Sound and square binding, in tan cloth-covered boards with two-colour illustration of ship passing under a bridge on upper board. Corners bumped and showing a bit of wear. One tiny tear in cloth at head of spine. Edges of text block a little dusty, and with a bit of foxing. Inside pages are clean, bright and unmarked. Includes thirty two half-tone plates and additional in-text illustrations. An account of modern engineering works, such as the bridges, canals, aqueducts, tunnels, London's Underground, and more. .
