About This Item
Lenoir City, Tennessee: [n.p.], 1949. VG+ or better pictorial stapled wraps. A publication focusing on Brother Earl Ivie (1906-1970) and his wife Sister Una E. Ivie, the Evangelists Helpmate: The Ivie family has been ministering to the suffering for many years. Evangelist Ivie manifests all nine gifts of the Holy Spirit. In his meetings, one outstanding scene is the altar service which lasts for hours, with hundreds seeking God. The Evangelist is asking God for one hundred thousand souls in 1950. The publication contains numerous testimonials of Ivie Healing Campaigns (Sugar Diabetes Healed, Deaf and Dumb Healed, Epileptic Fits Healed
).Ivie had a large radio audience, with daily broadcasts on radio stations in Dayton and Middletown, Ohio, and Knoxville, Tennessee; as the text relates, many people sent Ivie mail saying they were healed by placing their hands on their radio when he spoke. Ivie was traveling throughout the country doing his Big Tent Revivals (newspaper stories place him in California in the 1940s and Kentucky in 1951). In 1953, he had leased the Shubert Theater in Cincinnati, OH, as his Revival Temple (Suess, Lost Cincinnati, p. 73). Not located in OCLC or commerce.
