New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1885. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo. [5], vi, [3], 10-228, [2], [4] (pages of publisher's advertisements) pp. Green publisher's cloth with three black borders on the front board, three blind borders on the rear board, gold lettering on the spine; top edge gilt. Brown coated endpapers and pastedowns. Illustrated with a frontispiece and a few plates. The author here recounts his voyage around Greek islands and into Constantinople (Istanbul), with his voyage up the Danube into Romania. A contemporary name on the free front endpaper and rubbing to the extremities.
