About This Item
Dublin and London: Maunsel & Company, Ltd., 1916. Irish author James Stephens (1880-1950) was witness to the Easter Uprising of 1916 and wrote one of the best first-person accounts; here is a slim volume of poetry inspired by that event. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition, which is LIMITED to 500 copies. Tan paper wraps, with title and crossed branches decoration in green. The poems are "Autumn 1915," "Spring 1916," and "Joy Be with Us." Clean text; 18 pages. Very fresh and bright. Armorial bookplate ("Gilbert MacSwiney") on the inside front cover, which has offset faintly to the half-title. A little creasing to the corners, which stand proud of the pages; else, a Fine copy.. Limited. Original Wraps. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
