Volume itself has black covers with sharp gilt lettering on the spine. 241 pages, interior of book is clean and binding is tight. There is a touch of wear at the head and tail of the spine and at some corners. At the top of the pages near the spine there is some brown spotting over about 1/4 of the top of the pages. Dust jacket is protected in an archival quality Brodart cover. There are over 200 color illustrations of orchids as well as many black-and-white photos, pedigree charts and maps included in this book.
