About This Item

George Robertson & Co., n.d.(1907) 1907. Hardcover. VG+. RENTOUL, Ida S (Outhwaite). 1st Edition, 2nd Issue with text corrected to "A ride on a comet". 22 x 19cm landscape green cloth with bevelled edges and red & black stamped decoration and titles to the front. All edges green, marble endpapers vi, 184pp, with black and white illustrations by Ida Rentoul (Outhwaite) throughout. The boards are bright with only a small 0.7cm patch of colour loss to the front cover. There is rubbing to edges corners and spine tips with the cloth rubbed through at the corners, for 1cm along the bottom edge of the front board, and a few small holes, three at the foot of the spine and two at the top and another 2mm hole to the rear. Internally, there are two initials to the front free endpaper and a gift inscription dated 1913 to the half title page but otherwise the book is very clean. The binding is a little stretched but all pages are firmly attached. All in all, a very good copy of this scarce early Outhwaite illustrated work. Rainford & Parris Books welcomes enquiries, so please do not hesitate to ask if you require further images or have any questions. All books are packaged with great care.
