[x] 181 pp. EXCERPT FROM THE PREFACE: "My interest in this small newspaper, 'Farmer's Gazette,' was stirred in 1997 when I began work abstracting the deeds of Jackson County, Georgia for a book which covered Jackson County Deed Books A-D, for the period from 1796 to 1808. References were made periodically in these deed to various advertisements in the 'Farmer's Gazette." Upon some investigation, I found this newspaper out of the town of Sparta in Hancock County covered the majority of sheriff's deeds, tax collector's deeds, and various other legal notices for Jackson County. [...] Abstracts taken from the 'Farmer's Gazette' generally included classified ads, death and marriage notices, legal notices (i.e. sheriff's sales, estate sales and tax commissioner's sales), runaway slave notices, letters remaining in the post office, sales of properties, along with other miscellaneous and personal notices. Various other articles were also included, such as those regarding Indian affairs, an explanation of the land lottery system, or any item that might give insight as to this eram, their mode of living, thoughts, feelings, home possessions, etc." CONDITION: This book is in "fine" condition with a lovely cover and beautifully clean and bright pages that are free from any marginalia or creasing whatsoever. An absolutely lovely copy. Additional photos available upon request. Full refund if not satisfied.
