Blueswoman" and as "the unofficial poet laureate of Los Angeles". The artist notes following pagination recount that she was a child of the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles in the 1950s and 1960s. She was wife first of the white Southerner Charles Coleman, a leading S.N.C.C. spokesperson, and to two more husbands. She was also mother of Luanda and Anthony from him and another, Ian, from her second husband. Her third husband was also a poet. She wrote for men's magazines under the pseudonym Andrew L. Tate, too. She was massively talented and published fifteen works of poetry but also mixed-genre books, short stories, a novel and two additional works of poetry criticism and essays. Superior copy, gift-quality condition, inside and out, no discernible wear. Special Limited Edition, bound in pictorial paper over boards, robin's egg blue cloth-backed, and protected in stiff Mylar. #8 of 125 copies SIGNED and NUMBERED, [12], 13-271 pp., plus another black-and-white photograph of the artist.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
