London: Jones & Company, 1823-30 21 volumes. Occasional light wear/splitting, the odd quire protrudes from text block, slightly marked. Twenty-one volumes, beautifully presented in the original publisher's silk bindings, of the so called 'University Edition' of English classics; a rival literary series to Pickering's Diamond Classics, printed by Jones & Company, who operated from the remarkable 'Temple of the Muses' ('late Lackington's') building in Finsbury Square. The works included (16), all in verse, feature Milton's Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained, Thomson's Seasons, Burns' Poems, and the works of Pope, Cowper, Prior, Kirke White, and many others. . 24mo in 8s.
