London: Benn, (1948). First British edition.. Light brown cloth, spine stamped in gilt. Photographic frontispiece portrait of the author. A nice clean copy in a slightly worn dust jacket, some chips from spine extremities and corners. The second volume of Service's autobiography, preceded by Ploughman of the Moon (1945). The American edition appeared from Dodd, Mead, also in 1948. Mitham A28b.
