New York: Harper & Brothers, 1892. Leather. Fair. 1080p. Ex-library. An oversize hardcover book with black leather spine and corners and green marbled boards. POOR CONDITION. Back cover and last few pages completely detached; front cover barely hanging on by a couple of threads. Edges and surfaces of covers heavily scuffed. The entire spine is missing. Library stamp on title page, and scattered pencil scribbles and ink smudges here and there, not impacting the illustrations. Small hole torn in gutter of page 259. Small tear at tops of pages 589-592. LACKS page 951-952. A few pages in the 930s-940s are bound out of order, but all are present. OFFERED AS-IS. Volume 25 of the ladies' fashion magazine HARPER'S BAZAR (later spelled HARPER'S BAZAAR), containing all weekly issues from January 2 through December 31, 1892. Filled with lots of excellent black and white engravings of women's fashions, hairstyles, and more. Features a 2-page spread depicting Joan of Arc having a vision; a giant portrait by Rembrandt of his wife Saskia; a picture of the future Queen Mary with her mother in a garden; obituaries for Walt Whitman and John Greenleaf Whittier, with portraits; installments of the novel WOLFENBERG by William Black; installments of a work by Thomas Hardy called THE PURSUIT OF THE WELL-BELOVED; and illustrations of buildings to be completed for the Columbian Exposition (Chicago World's Fair).
