About This Item

New York: The University Society, 1901. Flexible Morocco Boards. Very Good Plus. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. New York: University Club, 1901. First Edition thus. 12mo., and this is the full bright scarlet morocco leather semi-rigid binding. Top Edge Gilt; gilt device on front cover, gilt vignettes and titling on spine, 154 + 175 pp. for the two works respectively, Henry VI, Part I and Henry VI, Part II. Very Good Plus, not far from near fine, with spine ends touched. See scans. Two full-color frontispieces, one at the head of each part, the first with a tissue guard, as was the case for the entire series. Plenty of interpretative help with the introductions, notes, glossary, critical comments and method of study preceding the works, those done by uncredited personnel of The University Society, possibly by Evangeline M. O'Connor, who did the laborious Topical Index volume for this memorable Booklovers Edition of The Society. Scarce in the full scarlet morocco leather semi-rigid binding, and a bit of eye-candy on the shelf as such. Please review scans. l49n
