Light gray boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 172 pp 8vo. This book is about some larger-than-life Kansas who have gone to great lengths to improve life in Kansas. Dr. Hertzler, the Horse and Buggy Doctor, of Halstead and his wife, Dr. Irene Koeneke-Hertzler, the Hertzler Research Foundation, the Kansas Health Museum, and many others who helped contribute to the living memorial to Dr. Hertzler, are the subjects of this book. Dr. Hertzler helped health care in Kansas grow as his career spanned the years in which Kansas grew from horse and buggy frontiers to modern communities. The name Hertzler adn Halstead are forever linked with health and medicine. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
