Munich, Germany: Munich, Germany: A Bruckmann / Bruckmann's Illustrated Guides , 1895, 1st edition, First Printing, 1895. ----------small hardcover / limp boards in black/dark brown cloth, text is in English, a solid Good example, browning to the paper, some tears to some pages, some chipping to edges of preliminary pages, a few pages are loose (mainly contents pages), a few small tears on the maps, large map tucked under band on verso of rear board ( Touristekarte der Bayerischen Alpen mit Nordtyrol u. Salzburg ), city map of Munich tipped on front endpaper, a smaller map is tipped in at the appropriate spot in the text, ---on the verso of the title page, the author has written: " When with this little book in hand, You wander once trough (sic) towns and lands, And when it speaks of earth and sky, Of things to come, of days gone by, Then -"please" think kindly of the author, And of his naughty little daughter!', Dr Th. Gsell Fels, Fra Gsell Fels, ---a lovely gift inscription, one can just imagine the author and his family travelling on a train or a ship or staying at a likely upscale hotel whereupon his rambunctious young daughter causes a small degree of distress to another traveller, this has been signed "To Mr and Mrs Barnes of New York, Uetliberg 29/7, 95", Uetliberg is in Zurich Switzerland, a lovely inscription dated in the year of publication, any image directly beside this listing is the actual book and not a generic photo /// SIGNED ---GUARANTEED to be AVAILABLE///---sizes are approximate (generally within 1/8 inch)---.
