Mexico City: Hipodromo de las Americas, 1946. First Impression. Paperback. In exceptionally good condition. Duodecimo, [16.5cm/6.5in], paperbound with gilt halftone of a charro and monumental statue of a foal and mare on front & rear covers, pp. 77. Illustrated with numerous b-w halftones, tables, &tc. including some of the Flying Tiger Airline which flew horses to and from the States and Canada ... El Hippodromo de las Americas, opened on March 6 , 1943. It is located in Lomas de Sotelo, Mexico City. The grandstand boasts seating for 20,000 people. It hosts the Mexican Derby and many prominent riders have raced on it as well as different racetracks in the United States and Canada. The Racetrack of the Americas has a total length of 1.408 meters, -(7 Furlongs), for up to a maximum of 14 horses per race. The most important classic year is the Handicap of the Americas.
