New York: The Macmillan Co.. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1936. Hardcover. First published in 1905, this is a "New Edition with Supplemental Chapters by Roy Cortissoz." Covers major (and minor) American artists, influences, Hudson River School, recent mural artists, etc. 12 full page photogravurs and 141 illustrations in the text. The authorThere are a few faint cover scratches and a light crease to upper corner last few pages, else very good condition. A nice clean, tight and unmarked book. Small quarto-sized book. Original red cloth publisher's covers with gilt spine and cover lettering (spine lettering is dull but legible). ; B&W Illustrations; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 608 pages .
