New York: Gaylord Watson, 1876 Book. Fair. Three-Quarter Leather. 16mo - over 5¾" - 6¾" tall. the book is tanning and very fragile, edges are frail and are chipping, contents intact and has no markings, part of spine is split, corners are curling and chipping.

Some wear to the blue paper spine, with some of it worn completely away, some creasing and small tears to back cover, but otherwise a good, internally clean and tight copy of this soft-cover book. Originally published in 1873, this is a slightly later, undated edition but with advert inside front cover for Berkshire Life Insurance company dated 1878. The author was one Wallace Bruce (1844-1914) who wrote several other similar guidebooks and also some slim poetry collections. A guide to places of interest along the Hudson River from New York to Albany. Folding map at rear of book has a tear about halfway along the top fold, but otherwise still whole. 177pp, b&w illustrations, folding map in colour.. Paperback. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Externally very worn in rust colored cloth, about 7 inches tall, illustrated throughout in black and white plus long hand colored folding map at rear. Lots of advertising throughout. Covers heavily rubbed and spotted with large chip to spine foot, hinges internally cracked but secure, text block sound, pages clean with some age-toning to the title page, a few corner creases, map has a closed tear roughly along one fold line but complete and repairable with just a few tiny chips of paper loss. . Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

The advertisements promote offers for 1877 though the copyright statement on the titlepage states 1873
