About This Item
Tokyo: Shinkenchiku Sha, (1974). First edition thus. Complete in two quarto volumes, one with 100 accordion folded plates on double leaves (26 in color); the other (47 pp plus folding timeline chart) providing descriptive text in Japanese with English translation. Publisher's gilt-threaded black silk with printed paper title labels on the upper covers, in folding sleeve & slipcase, both in matching black silk, the slipcase lettered in gilt on the spine, with printed paper title label on the upper cover.
Both volumes slightly soiled, small spot on the blank verso of the timeline in the text volume, sleeve & slipcase briefly soiled & lightly rubbed, otherwise Near Fine.
A one volume edition without English translation was published in 1973.
