First published in the U.S in 1923. In the publisher's original hardback with the original unclipped dust wrapper. This work features an address delivered by Rudyard Kipling at the University of St Andrews in Scotland, where he was the Lord Rector. This address discusses the importance of independence and the sacrifices that are made to obtain it. Kipling also refers to the work of Robert Burns, in particular a stanza which comments on the privilege of being independent.From the library of A. P. Watt & A. S. Watt of A. P. Externally very smart with only light shelf wear and the odd spot to the title label. The odd spot to the endpapers.
