Plate of Montgomery Castle facing page 81 has a tear 2/3 of the way into it, there are old glue marks to the rear. Otherwise just a few marks and occasional stains. Bound in old paper covered boards, with the remains of a paper spine, the binding is starting to come loose in places. Page edges are utrimmed and consequently a bit dusty. London: Printed by W. Bowyer, 1748 Book. Very Good. Half leather. [ii], iv, 60, 57-100; 28, 25-54; 28, 30*-31*, 29-53, [9] pages. Pagination erratic but matches the description in ESTC T77481. On ESTC the prelims are described as being iv [i.e. vi]. With 11 plates including the frontispiece and folding plan. The two plates of coins are numbered page 29* and 32*, but ar enot included in the pagination on ESTC, so I have included them in the plates. In 19th century half leather which is worn, head of spine is torn. Rough pencil outline plan of the town attached to the rear of the frontisipiece. Occasional pencil notes and occasional spotting..

Spotting and staining to the end papers and to pages at the start and finish also, including the title page. Brief ink note to the front free end paper naming the editor [ Rev Tho Monro ] and some of the contributors. In old marbled paper boards with narrow leather spine and leather corner tips - leather very worn and joints split, lettering label damaged and spine chipped..

This is a scarce, antique copy of "Taintor's Route and City Guides" - this particular guide is for the "Pennsylvania Coal Regions via Morris & Essex R.R." Published in 1867 by Taintor Brothers in New York. The guide features 4 color maps; the "Map of the Anthracite Coal Regions of Pennsylvania with Connecting Railways" is larger and folds out. "With sketches of the cities, villages, stations, scenery, and objects of interest along the route." There are illustrated advertisements at both the front and back. Please see the photos for the complete list of contents.Condition:The pages are in great condition - mostly clean and white with no writing and only some very sparse light foxing; tiny tear at the outer edge of page 29. The fold-out map is clean and firmly attached. The covers are present, but have detached from the spine and are separated along the right edge of the spine; creases at the left-hand corners of the front cover; there are a few tiny stain spots on the back cover.

He was the youngest child of Joseph Bryan, owner of the plantation known as Providence. This is a record of his life in Georgia, starting with the founding of Savannah with Oglethrope, through to his death at age 80, having lived in Georgia for 50 years. Jonathan Bryan was an important civic and political figure in the Georgia and South Carolina colonies, owned a great deal of property in both and owned Brampton Plantation. Book condition is Very Good+; hand sewn binding is firm; there is no foxing, soiling or markings in book. 97pp. First Edition. Brown cloth covered boards have some rubbing to corners, and to the head and tail of spine. Some small spots on back panel. Gilt letter title is bright on front cover. A well preserved copy.
