Edinburgh: Printed for W. Creech, 1775. Full Leather. Good. Full calf leather. Xii, 311 pp. A collection of short philosophical passages musing on life, proper ways of thinking and acting, etc. using historical allegories and other examples. By Henry Homes or Lord Kames, a Scottish philosopher and judge and prominent figure in the Scottish Enlightenment. GOOD condition. Heavy scuffing to the leather along the hinges and extremities, with minor scuffing to the covers. Minor soiling and discoloration to the covers. Owner's signature present. Large armorial bookplate, that of Gordon of Halleaths. Paper browned in the interior, with minor scattered foxing. A few stray pencil lines in the margins.
