213 Single Scotsmen? That alone should draw the attention of many a young lady. But beware, these men of Falgannon Isle are guarded by the beautiful, intelligent, and tough "B.A." BarbaraAnne Montgomerie. Throughout history the eldest woman of the Montgomerie clan is to guard this pristine, isolated island and its people, which consists mostly of males because the isle is cursed until the laird of the isle, and in this case, B.A. can find a black-haired, green-eyed Irish male to be her mate. Then all will be well as Falgannon will experience an increase in female births. For quite some time the Montgomerie has not been too successful, which is the reason why there are so many gorgeous Scot males on Falgannon. As the Isle is preparing for an invasion of American young ladies to visit and possibly find husbands, they are instead invaded by three large male Viking types, but one of the three is a black-haired, green-eyed Viking in the name of Desmond Mershan who arrives on the island stating he is now part owner, as Desmond's father and B.A.'s grandfather had some past business dealings. B.A. has immediate lust, while Desmond's lust has been longstanding, as he has been keeping track of B.A. throughout the years while planning his revenge, but at the same time being drawn to the blonde beauty. The problem is, he also has a vendetta against the Montgomeries. But now that he sees the B.A. in person it becomes an emotional, as well as physical struggle. The lust and passion are intense between these two, but so are their loyalties; she to the isle and he to his past and family. Mix all this in with a cast of characters on the island that are unique, a crazy cat Dudley, Scottish folklore and history and you have a story that is fun, sexy, and just pure perfection! Deborah MacGillivray knows how to bring the history of Scotland alive, as fans experienced that in her historical A Restless Knight. What a joy to be introduced to modern day Scotland! I had this need to go to an online travel site and book a trip to Scotland as soon as possible. A real treat that will have you laughing out loud and then grab your heart at the true friendship and love of friends, family, and respect for the land and history and what really matters in life pervades the pages. I'm waiting for more, as there are a lot of siblings on both sides. Pure contemporary magic!
