Orig. green cloth. xvi, 199 pp. [37] plate illustrations and diagrams, mostly in B&W with some in colour, several foldouts, plus B&W illustration in text. Spine tilted. Front board slightly bowed, bruising to tail edges of boards, minor wear to upper corners. Dust jacket price clipped, sunned to spine, a few bumps and scuffs, short tears to head of rear cover. Bruce Armstrong's The Irish and Highland Harps is the most important book ever written on the subject. No facet of the harp is omitted. The work includes historical background, minutely detailed descriptions of the harps, fine detailed illustrations of the decorations, examples of the music, and discussion of the method of performance. The fine illustrations and photographs make the work outstanding.
