In addition to serving as a chaplain overseas in World War II, Rabbi Seligson, served Central Synagogue in New York City as assistant rabbi, then chief rabbi for 20 years and later as rabbi emeritus. He was also the host of the Message of Israel radio program. The New York Times wrote in his obituary: "Rabbi Seligson was among the first Jewish chaplains to volunteer to serve overseas during World War II. As an Army chaplain, he held Passover seders for hundreds of soldiers in Calcutta, India, and comforted those hospitalized with jungle fever in Burma. Unusual miniature German language edition of the popular Chautropfen (translated as "Dewdrops") miniatures of the period, with a short scripture or quote for each day of the month.

Leipzig, Germany: Otto Hotze's Rachfolger, 1922. This is a survivor of days gone by. Just after World War One, or as they knew it, The Great War, this book was published in Germany. It somehow survived WWII, either by traveling overseas beforehand thus avoiding the book burnings there, or being hidden by some intrepid rebel right under the noses of the Nazis. The edges of the book are sunned, the aging pages have come loose from the wraps all as a whole stapled group. The interior is delicate, but filled with such interesting anomalies, I have to offer it to the historians of the world.. First Edition. Trade Paperback. Poor. 8vo - over 7" - 9" tall. Book.
