BOOK INFO: 'The Jordan Beachhead is a graphic and colorful historical novel of the beginnings of Christianity. The plot, revolving around a band of Galilean fishermen searching after the Messiah, is based on authetic biblical history as contained in the New Testament. One of the most important scenes in the novel is enacted at the Jordan River in Palestine in the first century, and it serves to acquaint the reader with the national-religious-social background of Jewish-Roman relations.' (from the endflap). 'In The Jordan Beachhead the Rev. Mr. Kepler has captured this country somehow, and the truth of what he has written about it seems to me to go far towards accomplishing his end.... His rough-textured prose has caught the men as well, shaped by their time as well as their land; they climb the rocks and trudge the dusty roads, considering and seeking truth in an adventure both accurately historical and compellingly modern.' (from Heston's foreword). Jesus Christ--Fiction
