Wraps sharp and clean. Text block clean, with feint marks to fore-edge. Feels read, but is still tightly bound, no reading creases to spine. Previous booksellers pencil price to FEP. Neart fine condition. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. A near fine copy of this paperback published by Newcastle, the 1976 reissue of the first edition (1928), the second book in the Neustrian Cycle. Which was a well received Arthurian fantasy series, the first book in the Cycle, Gerfalcon was published in 1927. In the early 1970s Barringer's works were rediscovered and issued as reprints by Newcastle and later by Borgo.

Synopsis

Joris of the Rock is a fantasy novel by Leslie Barringer, the second book in his three volume Neustrian Cycle. It is set around the fourteenth century in an alternate medieval France called Neustria (historically an early division of the Frankish kingdom). The book was first published in the United Kingdom by Heinemann in 1928; an American edition followed from Doubleday in 1929.
