NY: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1979. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Large biography of the English author (1857-1924) includes bibliography of his works, index, and photos.1008 pages. Navy blue boards are slightly faded at the top edges, spine is slightly concave, and several pages are ruffled from dampness & have a little blue bleed from the top. Binding is tight and there are no marks of any sort. Dust jacket has a half-inch tear and small smudge on back. Clean and straight.
