New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1938. First Edition. hardcover. Very Good in soiled and stained but intact slipcase. Two volumes in slipcase. The third installment in the Joseph tetralogy. INSCRIBED to Paul Elkin and SIGNED by the author on the title page of the first volume. Mann first wrote an "A" to begin Elkin's last name and then wrote over it.
