London: Longmans, Green and Co., 1908. 1st Edition . Very Good Minus. 6.5 x 9.25 inches (16 x 23.5 cm). Signed by Author. Complete two volume set. Green cloth bindings with bevelled board edges. Top page edge gilt, other edges untrimmed. Spines darkened and have wear to head. Good solid bindings. Foxing to page edges and endpapers, scattered patches of foxing throughout the text. Formerly in the Carlton Club Library: bookplates to front pastedown endpapers with inked note: 'Presented by the Earl of Ilchester'. Small Carlton Club stamps to verso of title page and to last page of text in each volume. Later owner's embossed name stamp to half title pages. After the title page in Volume I is a tipped-in handwritten note from the editor: 'With the Earl of Ilchester's Compliments'. Overall condition is Very Good Minus.
