Knopf original Stated First Edition with no other printings listed with a special dust jacket. SIGNED on the front endpaper by Julia Child and Jacques Pepin. The book is tight and square with solid hinges, sharp tips and clean unmarred boards. Spine head gently pushed. Textblock is clean with no writing, bookplate or markings and not BCE, ex-library or remaindered. A special dust jacket was designed for Kendall-Jackson Winery with different colors than the original dust jacket and without the price. The dust jacket has a mild crinkle to spine head, else fine. Protected in a new Brodart mylar cover. Also included is a menu that has been folded and laid in, SIGNED by both Julia and Jacques at a Kendall-Jackson Winery reception in San Francisco on March 25, 2000.

Of Boston, "New England's Largest Housefurnishers", and many other advertisements for regional and national businesses throughout the text. This cookbook was issued as a fundraiser for the Hyannis Public Library Association on Massachusetts' Cape Cod in 1895 in an edition of 500 copies. The preface notes that this entire edition sold out quickly, so the Ladies of the Association put out the call for more recipes and more advertisers, resulting in this second enlarged and improved edition.
