This book is a definitive history for the KC streetcar scene from 1870 to 1957.
This book is packed with history, recollections, sidebar vignettes, technical data, almost 400 photographs, and dozens of other pieces of artwork. It also has maps and track layouts for each of the car barns.
Fine condition. However, I did note that there are two tiny scratches on the front of the book in the photo area that are very hard to see. The inside is pristine. Clean. Tight. Appears to have never been read. Oversize book.

Thayer's Lithographers, Boston, some fold-out, numbered with arabic numerals 1 - 32. Of the 32 called for 8 are missing ( 3,4,5,9,10,11,12,13), Occasional minor foxing, followed by 2 blank pages then 12 more plates numbered II - XIII in roman numerals, (one in color) drawn by Mrs. Hitchcock and printed by Pendleton's Lithography Boston, some of these correspond to the missing plates from the 1st section but others do not appear in the list of plate at front of book, these plates have foxing and staining, mainly in the margins.
