About This Item
1905. SPIELMAN, M.H. and G.S. Layard. KATE GREENAWAY. New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons/London: Adam and Charles Black, 1905. 8vo., decorated blue cloth printed in red and green, gilt title on spine and upper board; t.e.g.; pictorial endpapers. Color and black & white plates, and black & white text illustrations. Bookplate. Binding is slightly skewed, with sun to spine and perimeters, a half-inch closed tear at crown, and shows general light wear. Mildly over-opened in spots, but text and illustrations are fresh and bright. Nevertheless, it is a very good copy of a beautifully designed book. Quite charming.
