London:W. Kent and Co.(Late d. Bogue), 1858. First Edition Thus. hard cover. Good/No jacket. London:W. Kent and Co.(late D. Bogue). 1858. 1st thus. 136pp+4pp ads. Illustrated with original designs by Birket Foster. Engraved by H. N. Woods. Hardcover. Blue embossed boards lightly soiled and shelfworn along edges (bottom edges near spine edge worn to boards) with wear (and chipping) to spine ends and edge points worn to boards. Gilt on front cover bright but dulled on spine strip. All edges gilt. Internally yellow endpages clean save for a number penciled on inside front board but otherwise free of previous owners marks or signatures. The binding is tight but both hinges have cracked with the binding cracked at page 72/73. Overall a near very good, bright copy. *Bal:12427.
