A reprint copy of Khaki and Gown, An Autobiography of Field-Marshal Lord Birdwood, with a foreword by Winston Churchill. William Birdwood was a British Army Officer who saw active service during the Second Boer War on the staff of Lord Kitchener and in the First World War. This is a fascinating autobiography of his life and active service. Complete with sixteen plates and five maps and a frontispiece. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart with some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Previous owner inscription to the front free endpaper. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
