About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1927. This book is extemely rare in that it is a First Edition as well as comes with its original, handsome dust jacket with original price on front flap. In short, it's a true collectible for the Wawick Deeping admirer. The novel concerns Kitty, a young woman fighting for her independence and happiness and at odds with a possessive mother who attempts to thwart Kitty's relationship with a young man. The book is in Very Good condition, with green cloth covers, black lettering on the front panel and spine, and a colorful floral design with in a black oval border on the front panel. The book has top-edge yellow. As for the interior, the book has decorative patterned endpapers using the Borzoi Books grayhound colophon in a checkerboard pattern. There are no signatures from former owners. The text pages are clean, without tears or stains, and have only light age toning. The unclipped dust jacket has some small tears and chipping at the top corner and spine crown, as well as some soiling on the rear panel and along top edge. I have placed it into a Brodart protective sleeve. The book measures 5 1/4 by 7 3/4 inches and includes 373 pages. See photo.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
