Lebanon, Pa: Johann Christian Schmidt, und Caspar und Johann Licht, 1831. Hardcover. Very Good -. Erste Amerikanische Auflage. viii, [2], 11-322, [2] p.; 14 cm. Contemporary full tree calf; leather label on spine with gilt-tooled title "Perlen-Schnur" with gilt-rolled Greek key decoration. Errata noted on first unpaginated page. "J. Hartman, Drucker, Libanon." -- colophon. Although the title page states "Erste Amerikanische Auflage," this is the second printing of the first American edition, which appeared the previous year, printed by Hartman for Gideon Schmidt, and Caspar und Johann Licht (see First Century of German Language Printing in the U.S.A., 3112.). In Very Good- Condition: edges lightly rubbed; old dampstain on first few leaves; light browning and foxing throughout; otherwise, clean and tight. Very scarce.
