About This Item
Prague: Pokrok, 1932 Octavo 19x12.5 cm., wrappers, 210(2)pp. Ergon Erwin Kisch (1885-1948) was a colorful reporter who is known as the founder of investigative journalism, but historians view his work as art literature than an objective description of real events. Based in Berlin, he wrote in German for Prague newspapers and was given diplomatic status which protected him as a Jew and communist. Always appreciated for his humor, his journalistic legacy is now treated as more creative than factual. Karel Mrzilek photomontage cover design. OCLC locates 3 holdings (NG Canada, Toronto PL) 600
