The photos include two images of porcelain from the author's collection, and photos of the Meiji Emperor and Emperess, Ainu, tattoos, geisha, coolies, etc. The Emperor and Emperess' portrait was taken by Uchida Kuichi, then the most prominent native photographer in Japan at the time.
