Covers dust-soiled. ** Attached to the front pastedown is ALS by the Author to the recipient of the book, Frank Lyman. ** Author William Francis Ganong (1864-1941was Professor of Botany as well as Director of the Lyman Botanic Garden at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. He was instrumental in the formation of the glass-housed Lyman Botanic Garden, named after the recipient of this volume, in 1894. This book has chapters on setting up a laboratory for botanical studies, including the apparatus and chemicals needed. There follows details on protoplasm, photosynthesis, chemosynthesis, geotropism, and phototropism. Illustrated throughout. OCLC 3613817.. Second Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good .
