New York: William Farquhar Payson, 1932. First Separate Edition. No. 420 of 450 numbered copies. Quarter tan linen over marbled boards; printed paper spine label; page edges untrimmed; 54pp. Spine label a trifle darkened, still a Fine, tight copy; the text is unopened.
His final published work to appear in Cooper's lifetime, "The Lake Gun" was included in a prose miscellany, The Parthenon, in 1850. This attractive little volume, printed at the Stratford Press, is the story's first appearance as a separate publication. Includes an introduction by Robert E. Spiller.
