New York: The Century Co, 1891. First. Hardcover. VG. Notes of a Journey through China, Mongolia and Tibet. 398 pp, ill., 2 maps. Rockhill spent 4 years in Tibet, then embarked on a journey through the Chinese empire. Incl. history, geography, ethnology. Only two explorers (Prjevalsky and Singh) ever visited these areas prior to Rockhill. VG in orig. brown cloth, Orig. gilt stamped contrasting colored spine label chipped and worn (though all lettering present and readable). Slight wear at spine tips and corners.
