Buckley.. Octavo, 371pp. Blue hardcover, black cloth spine, title stamped in silver on spine. Stated "first printing" on copyright page with full number line. Faint dust along top edge of text block. In publisher's dust jacket, retail price on the front flap, points of rubbing along top edge, wear to top edge, a very good example. Signed on the half-title: "To Jim Buckley - from RN. 1982." Senator James L. Buckley (b. 1923) is the brother of conservative icon William F. Buckley, Jr. Buckley served in the United States Senate from 1971-1977, representing the State of New York. He later joined the Reagan Administration in 1981. He served as Counselor of the Department of State and was later appointed to the United States Court of Appeals - District of Columbia Circuit. He is the author of four books including: If Men Were Angels: A View from the Senate (1975), Gleanings from an Unplanned Life (2006), Freedom at Risk: Reflections on Politics, Liberty, and the State (2010) and Saving Congress from Itself: Emancipating the States & Empowering Their People (2014).
