In acceptable to poor condition - NOT a facsimile reprint. Original front board and cloth over spine are missing. Back cover and full text block is still present and solidly bound, other than the first few pages which have tears along the edge of the spine but are still attached. Endpapers are present. Previous owner's gift inscription on second endpaper and name in ink on title page. Otherwise pages are lightly aged but unmarked, with some chipping and small tearing to fore-edges of a few pages. NOT Ex-Library. An acceptable reading copy only. Black and white illustrations. A series of six lectures delivered to the post-graduate class at Johns Hopkins Hospital, November-December 1893.SIR WILLIAM OSLER, (1849 - 1919) was a Canadian physician and one of the four founding professors of Johns Hopkins Hospital. Osler created the first residency program for specialty training of physicians, and he was the first to bring medical students out of the lecture hall for bedside clinical training.
