Boston: D.Lothrop and Company, 1886 Scarce account by the Harvard-educated Gage (1832-1889) of his time "in England and on the Continent [Germany, Switzerland]" with his wife ("endeared companion"), from June, 1884 to October, 1885. Gilt title and spine; top edge gilt. Moderate rubbing to cover extremities. Library marks limited to spine lettering, bookplate at inside front cover, and pocket strip/plain label/offset shadows to rear endpapers. Clean and tight. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall
