This is a tight sound copy with the only flaws being: the bottom corners are lightly bumped and the spine is lightly faded. This yearbook was published on a one time basis, and there are no preceding or subsequent editions of its kind. It is regarded as a separate product from the Britannica Book of the Year which was first published in 1938. Photo on request. Samuel Johnson was a famous English writer and scholar most known for his 'Dictionary of the English Language' as well as a collection of biographical accounts of eminent English poets. In the mid-1700s, Johnson met James Boswell, a Scottish biographer who wrote an extensive biography of Johnson, which, according to a number of experts, is the greatest biography in the English language!

In addition to the complete eight-volumes of 'Life of Samuel Johnson' this set includes both volumes of 'Johnsoniana', a work of anecdotes collected by Johnson himself. According to Pottle,
