He is considered primarily responsible for introducing the Western education system in India. [Wikipedia] The author, his nephew Sir George Otto Trevelyan, was a British statesman, author, historian and minister.
Two volumes, 8vo, 416pp, 406pp, all edges marbled. 3/4 brown leather with marbled boards, spines gilt decorated in 6 compartments, red title label, green volume label. Leather slt. rubbed at edges and spine tips, some light marking on leather, internally pristine.
