London: Thomas Tegg and Son, 1838. Vol.1, First Edition / Vol.2 Second Edition. Quarter leather. Very good. 16mo. (4"x6"), quarter leather bindings, marbled endpapers, hand colored steel engraved frontispiece (by George Cruikshank) in each volume, book plate of Justin G. Turner in Vol. 1. Vol. 1 has a folding facsimile letter. Vol. 2 has large folding sheet facsimile of the first declaration of independence. -- Volume 2 has loose frontispiece. Books are internally sound except for the loose frontispiece in vol. 2. -- Overall Condition. Cruikshank: "In his lifetime he created nearly 10,000 prints, illustrations, and plates. There are collections of his works in the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. A Royal Society of Arts blue plaque commemorates Cruikshank at 293 Hampstead Road in Camden Town"-wikipedia.
