posters by Mora. All housed in a brown cloth publisher's slipcase with gilt lettered spine.
One of 50 copies (the Deluxe Edition), signed by Hiller as well as editor Gail Jones and printer Norman Clayton. In addition, the acknowledgments on the copyright page is signed by two of the supporters of the edition, James Bryant and Mary Hill.
In addition to this edition of 50 copies, there were 295 copies of the trade edition and 20 hors-commerce with no extra plates.
Uruguayan-born American artist Jo Mora (1876-1947) was a sculptor, painter, muralist, photographer, and historian, pardticularly known for his portrayals of cowboys.
The two Mora posters which are included in the portfolio are "Evolution of
the Cowboy" (1937 ) and one of Mora's important late works "The State of
California" (1945).
This title was oversubscribed on publication and therefore uncommon on the market.
