Probably the best and most objective biography on the famed American aviator, discussing his life and many accomplishments, his famous solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean to Paris, his patriotism, his activities as an isolationist and prominent member of the 'America First Committee' aiming to keep America out of the 1939 European war, his visit to Nazi Germany and friendly relations with Nazi Hermann Goering, his strong criticisms of Jews and his views on their role in pushing America into war, his service to America during World War 2, his wife and family's personal accomplishments as writers, scientists etc., much more, including many excellent rare photos of 'Lindy' and his family. Hardcover with dust jacket, contains glossy illustrations, notes and sources, indexed, 628pp. A very nice copy, the jacket neatly encased in an acid-free Brodart plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
