Illustrated end pages, and the text is illustrated, every other page, with drawings by Lynd Ward. Grey coloured boards with red coloured illustration and titles to the front panel and red coloured titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Lynd Ward, with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Black and white photographs of author and artist to the rear fold over panel. This book was first published in 1942, and, this is an updated facsimile edition. The story of the building of the George Washington Bridge and of the small red lighthouse that stands on the bank of the Hudson River in New York. The couple who gifted the book have attached to the verso of the half title page and actual photograph showing the George Washington Bridge with the small red lighthouse. Minor rubbing of the book corners and back strip corners. The aforementioned photograph has been pasted on to the page and the glue can be seen on the half title page; with, a gift inscription underneath the photograph. A little rubbing of the book edges and panels with sunning to the rear panel. Size: Square Octavo. Not paginated [52 pages] pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Lynd Ward.
